Trees are SOLD OUT!!

Have you ever wanted to decorate a tree at Christmas in the Park? This year we have three categories that fit every organization. Community Trees are great for non-profits, community groups, scouts, in memoriam, or general family trees. Sponsor Trees are sold to for-profit organizations of any size. Our High School Trees are part of a separate art contest and are for high school clubs or groups only. The theme for Christmas in the Park this year is "A Very Beary Christmas" and we encourage you to incorporate a bear into your decorations.

Christmas in the Park supplies a 7-8 foot tall tree, 100 LED lights and a sign placed in front of the tree.

Decorating days are November 22, 23, 24 (9:00am - 5:00pm) & 26th (9:00am - Noon). Undecorating will take place January 3, 4 & 5th (9:00am - 5:00pm).

**Our Tree Program is located at Christmas in the Park event at Plaza de Cesar Chavez**

General Guidelines

PARKING: There is no parking around Plaza de Cesar Chavez Park. You may pull into an open space to drop off items only and then must move your vehicle. Please bring a hand-truck or wagon if you have a large amount of decorations to transport.

CHECK IN: Please check-in at the Christmas in the Park info booth to receive your tree number and to obtain your LED lights. See map below for parking and check-in location.

OBTAINING YOUR TREE: You will get your tree assignment when you check-in for decorating. The tree number corresponds to the actual tree you will be decorating. A map will be available at the park. Please do not ask to switch trees.

DECORATIONS: Ornaments should be well made, wind and water-resistant. Avoid using food (i.e., pasta) and paper as ornament decorations, as they will not withstand inclement weather. Keep in mind your tree will be approximately 7 to 8 feet tall. It is recommended that you have a minimum of 80 imaginative ornaments for your tree. Christmas in the Park will provide 100 LED lights. Use sturdy wires to attach ornaments to your tree to prevent them from being blown or knocked off the tree. Groups will need to bring their own tools such as pliers, scissors, small stepladder, etc., to help with the decorating process. Unfortunately, Christmas in the Park will not be able to provide any tools or ladders at that time. Please remember that this is "tree decorating". We will not have room around your tree for large decor items or cutouts.

RESTRICTIONS: Decorations must not contain any inappropriate or offensive language and or symbols. No profanity or inappropriate or offensive decor is allowed on tree decorations.

CONTEST: There will be a Best Overall Tree Decoration contest. All Community, and Sponsor Trees will be considered for this contest and the winning tree, as selected by a panel of judges will have a ribbon/sign placed on the tree distinguishing the winner during the event.

JUDGING: Judging scores are based on (1) Presentation of Theme, (2) Originality/Artistic Skill, (3) Creativity (unusual use of common materials), (4) Total visual appeal with minimum of 80 wind and rain proof ornaments.

SIGNAGE: Christmas in the Park will provide an identification sign for your organization that will be placed at the base of your tree. No other signs will be allowed.

ADULTS: Please be sure members of your organization are closely supervised, especially if you plan to bring small children to the park.

CLOSING OF EVENT: Christmas in the Park ends on Sunday, January 2, 2022. If you would like to keep your decorations, you must un-decorate your tree on your assigned day (Monday January 3rd, Tuesday January 4th or Wednesday January 5th) between 9am and 5pm. Any decorations left after 5pm on January 5th will be discarded.
