Executive Director

The Executive Director is the key management leader of Christmas in the Park (CITP).The Executive Director oversees the administration, programs and strategic plan of the organization. Other key duties include fundraising, marketing and community outreach. The position reports directly to the Board of Directors.

General Job Responsibilities

  • Organization Mission and Strategy: Works with board and staff to ensure that the mission is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning and community outreach
  • Financial Performance and Viability: Develop resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization.
    • Responsible for fundraising and developing other revenue sources necessary to support CITP’s mission.
    • Responsible for the fiscal integrity of CITP, to include a proposed annual budget and monthly financial statement, which accurately reflects the financial condition of the organization.
    • Responsible for fiscal management to ensure operating within the approved budget, maximizes resource utilization, and maintains the organization in a healthy financial position.
  • Organization Operations: Oversees resources and has overall responsibility to ensure effective operations.
    • Responsible for working with the Operations Manager for the hiring and retention of competent and qualified staff.
    • Responsible for signing all agreements made and entered into on behalf of the organization.
  • Board Governance: Works with the board in order to fulfill the organization’s mission.
    • Responsible for leading CITP in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors.
    • Responsible for recruiting and educating board members on organizational activities and board responsibilities
    • Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and make informed decisions.
  • Responsible for strategic planning to ensure that CITP can successfully fulfill its Mission into the future
  • Responsible for the implementation of various programs that support the organization’s mission
  • Responsible for the enhancement of CITP’s image by being active and visible in the community and working closely with other professional, civic and private organizations
