Program Coordinator

Job Purpose:

The Program Coordinator is to assist with a variety of Christmas in the Park programs.Under the supervision of the Program Manager and Executive Director, the Program Coordinator works on various event related tasks including special events, sponsorships, as well as related programs and features for Christmas in the Park events.

Duties:

  • Assist with preparation, set-up and development of CITP special events and programs including, but not limited, to Christmas in July, Breakfast with Santa, Tree Program, Entertainment Program and Volunteers
  • Assist in supervising volunteers, community service workers and interns
  • Establish a rapport with clients and vendors
  • Work on existing displays and new event features under operations team supervision
  • Assist with guest service standards including training volunteers and seasonal staff
  • Sponsorship fulfillment tracking
  • Light human resources work
  • Assist in creation of marketing materials and communications including social media
  • Excellent communication skills-both verbal and written
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be a team player with the ability to multi task
  • Maintain a professional image at all times
  • The ability to make quick and accurate decisions
  • The ability to perform under pressure
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Social media experience including Facebook and Instagram
  • The ability to work with little or no supervision
  • The ability to lift 25/50/80 pounds regularly
  • The ability to respond quickly to sounds
  • The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
  • The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations
  • The ability to safely climb ladders while carrying 40 pounds
  • The ability to work in extreme weather
  • The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day
  • The ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
  • The ability to communicate using the English language
  • Experience and working knowledge of general equipment and tools
  • Prior experience in a customer service role
  • Prior volunteer or employee supervision desired.

The Christmas in the Park Program Coordinator position is a full-time position located in San Jose California. The position includes partial medical benefits, an IRA matching program, sick leave and vacation time for eligible employees.

Exhibit Engineer - Fabricator

Summary:

Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, The Christmas in Park Exhibit Engineer is responsible for engineering and constructing exhibits both basic and mechanically complex. The Exhibit Engineer ensures the functionality, reliability, safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness of each exhibit. This person can problem solve and fix exhibits on the fly. This person is capable of working independently, is self-motivated, and will produce exhibits on a specified timeline and of a specific design. Exhibit Engineers also serve as leads at Christmas in the Park events.

Essential Functions:

  • Consistently deliver high-quality exhibit engineering across a number of projects with minimum supervision.
  • Provide support to the Director of Operations and set-up teams as needed.
  • Follow design direction from the Creative Director.
  • Facilitate technical aspects of off-site installations, maintenance trips, and de-installations.
  • Adapt to project constraints with proactive solutions. Work comfortably and productively on a range of projects from rough, in-house prototypes to highly-finished, turn-key sponsor projects.
  • Make timely exhibit engineering decisions.
  • Upholds safety standards.
  • Strong attention to detail. The ability to make quick and accurate decisions

  • Assist with cleaning and maintenance of warehouse facility.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum three years prior carpentry or other applicable experience.
  • Shop knowledge: wood, metal, and plastic fabrication; prototyping and fabrication of exhibits.
  • Experience and working knowledge of construction equipment and tools including but not limited to forklifts, boom lifts, etc.

Exhibit Engineer - Light Show

Summary:

Under the supervision of the Creative Director, The Christmas in Park Exhibit Engineer is responsible for engineering and constructing exhibits both basic and mechanically complex. They can run an animated light show using Xlights. The Exhibit Engineer ensures the functionality, reliability, safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness of each exhibit as well as the synchronization of the show. They have the ability to build, maintain, and customize animated lighting controllers. This person can problem solve, program, and fix exhibits on the fly. This person is capable of working independently, is self-motivated, and will produce exhibits on a specified timeline and of a specific design and program. Exhibit Engineers also serve as leads at Christmas in the Park events.
