Lowe’s officially takes over for Orchard Supply Ha

SAN JOSE, CA – OCTOBER 18, 2018 – Christmas in the Park is excited to announce Lowe’s as a featured, one-year sponsor for Christmas in the Park. A previous hardware relationship was in place with Orchard Supply Hardware (OSH) before the company announced plans to close later this year. The sponsorship consisted of a cash donation as well as a discounted price on all 550 Christmas trees bought annually by the organization.

"We knew Lowe’s was the parent company for OSH, so we we’re thrilled with their decision to pick up where OSH left off and continue support of Christmas in the Park,” said Executive Director Jason Minsky.

For the past five years, OSH played a key role as a featured event sponsor, and Lowe’s one-year commitment will help further support the Christmas in the Park’s purchase of trees, tools and general supplies for the 2018 event.

“Being an active part of the San Jose community, where many of our customers and employees live and work, is important to us,” said Jeff Reynolds, Lowe’s market director in San Jose. “We are proud to continue the tradition of supporting Christmas in the Park, which brings so much joy to the local community during the holiday season.”

Lowe’s has 12 stores in the greater San Francisco market, including four stores in San Jose.

Our 25th annual Christmas in July is in the books and it may have just been the best yet! An amazing buffet dinner by Cosmopolitan Catering, drinks from Joseph George, live music and dancing by LiveWire, plus an auction that included a stay at the Fairmont Orchid in Hawaii, round-trip tickets anywhere Southwest Airlines flies, diamond earrings from Dynasty Jewelers, a Joseph George/SCG FoodSpace wine tasting and suite tickets to the College Football Championship Game this January made the night unforgettable. However, it was a few surprises that really made an impact. Southwest Airlines gifted 10,000 Rapid Rewards Points to each attendee (see full press release below) and Ecko Worldwide Transportation provided an airport voucher as an additional gift. Southwest Airlines® Surprises Guests at Fundraiser

SAN JOSE, CA – July 23, 2018 – Christmas in the Park is excited to announce that Southwest® has extended its relationship with Christmas in the Park for an additional year as presenting sponsor for the San Jose tradition. The extension, which continues through January 2019, amounts to a three-year partnership and encompassing the 40th anniversary of Christmas in the Park in 2019.

"We’re thrilled with Southwest’s continuing support of Christmas in the Park and their extension through 2019” said Executive Director Jason Minsky.

As presenting sponsor of Christmas in the Park since the non-profit took full control of the event in 2011, Southwest’s presence in 2017 included the creation of the Southwest Lounge; a place for family and friends to sit and relax while visiting the park. In addition to an opening night Rapid Rewards® promotion, the airline also gave out ornaments at the annual “Stuff the Bus” toy drive for the US Marine Reserves Toys for Tots program.

Following the announcement at the annual Christmas in July event, Southwest also surprised guests with a gift of 10,000 Rapid Rewards® bonus points.

Christmas in July has raised more than a million dollars during the past 25 years and has drawn more than 500 people over the weekend. Featuring live music, a full buffet dinner from Cosmopolitan Catering, live and silent auctions, and even a 200-foot zip-line, the event also featured a wide variety of drinks from Joseph George fine wines.

Southwest Airlines® Becomes Presenting Sponsor of the San Jose Tradition Christmas in the Park

SAN JOSE, CA – November 7, 2017 – Christmas in the Park is excited to announce Southwest® as presenting sponsor of “Christmas in the Park,” a San Jose tradition that has occupied Plaza de Cesar Chavez Park during the holidays since 1980.

"We’re thrilled with Southwest’s support, sustaining an event that brings half a million members of our community together to celebrate the holiday spirit. We’re also grateful that Southwest flies from SJC to more destinations than Rudolph and the rest of the flying reindeer” said San José Mayor Sam Liccardo.

This is the first presenting sponsor for Christmas in the Park since the non-profit took full control of the event in 2011.
