There sometimes can be a lot of confusion about Christmas in the Park. Are the carnival rides part of Christmas in the Park? How about Ice Skating? Does the city run the event? Well, we took some time to answer some of these questions for you in our “Did you know?” below.

Did You Know That…
  1. CITP dates back to the 1950’s?
  2. CITP started on the lawn of the Lima Family Mortuary in Willow Glen?
  3. There are about 500 decorated Christmas trees in the park during the event?
  4. There are 92 planted trees in the park?
  5. We have nightly entertainment on our Community Stage?
  6. We have over 40 animated displays?
  7. We are a 501(c)3 organizations that is NOT run by the city of San Jose?
  8. If each person that visited the park donated $1.00 we would be fully funded for the entire year?

  22. We have a monthly newsletter that will keep you updated throughout the year on important happenings and interesting facts about CITP, like when you can purchase a tree, when you can purchase tickets to our Christmas in July dinner/dance fundraiser or who is performing on the Community Stage.
  23. We partner with the United States Marine Corps Reserves Toys for Tots each year and fill one (or more) VTA bus with new toys for needy children in the community?
  24. You can purchase Christmas in the Park branded items during the run of the event?
