Help keep Christmas in the Park in San Jose!
Christmas in the Park is proud to be have been in San Jose for the past 32 years, but in order to keep that tradition going, we need your help! Christmas in the Park brings over half a million visitors each year to Downtown San Jose, and if each visitor were to donate $1 in one of the many donation boxes, then Christmas in the Park would be fully funded for the next year.
To make supporting the event even better, purchase a Blinky’s Favorite Eateries pin. Not only do all proceeds go directly to Christmas in the Park, but also you get great discounts at your favorite local eateries. Pins can be purchased online at the North Pole Information booth for only $11, and last throughout the entire holiday season. There are no coupons to get the discounts. Just wear your pin, eat and enjoy saved money!

Congratulations to the winners of the 2012 High School Tree Decorating contest!
We have some great, young minds here in the Bay Area. Local high schools from across San Jose competed against each other in different categories to claim victory as the best-decorated tree in Christmas in the Park. Students were given two days and a freshly cut Christmas tree to put their imagination to work. In Group A, the art classes, Pioneer High School's National Art Honor Society took first place with their reminiscent display of the "Wizard of Oz." Following in second place was Abraham Lincoln High School's National Art Honor Society with their interpretation of the classic "Nutcracker." Archbishop Mitty High School's Community Arts Program with their "Dogs" tree that featured dozens of your favorite furry animals claimed third place.
For Group B, the non-art classes, Silver Creek High School reigns supreme in first place with their wonderland of decorations, with inspiration from "Alice in Wonderland." James Lick High School's sweet tooth snagged them second place, with a tree decorated from stump to star in sweet treats from "Candy Land." Branham High School's "Best Buddies" tree showed the importance of having a best friend, and snagged them third place.

Can Life Get Any Better?

The Tabard's Theater's holiday production of "It's A Wonderful Life" runs from December 2-18 at Theater on San Pedro Square. The classic Christmas story comes to life on stage while supporting another holiday tradition- Christmas in the Park. The Tabard Theater Company is committed to making theater affordable and accessible to all, through its various outreach programs. In addition, the theater donates a portion of its concession proceeds to community area non-profits. For the holiday season, our friends at the Tabard Theater have chosen San Jose's best loved holiday event – Christmas in the Park. Just think - you can dine downtown, watch this holiday classic and then stroll through Christmas in the Park. Dare I say it? Yes, "It's A Wonderful Life..."

Did you know? Christmas in the Park is going Bright Green!

Celebrating the holidays has never been better for our community, our children, and our planet. Christmas in the Park was at the forefront of LED Christmas lights nine years ago, when LED lights were still in the experimental stage. After we switched to LED lights, we reduced our energy consumption by 70 percent. Christmas in the Park is currently working towards becoming a Zero Waste Event, and we need your help! Make sure you are properly disposing of your goodies at the park, and don't forget—We are a plastic bag free zone! Find out about the new Bright Green Tree Zone, the new human-powered display, and more at our website.

All aboard! The Blinky Express is making a stop at Christmas in the Park.

Ever wish you could hop onto the Santa Claus Railroad to enjoy the sights and sounds of the park? Now kids cans! This year we're bringing a fully working train for the kiddies to enjoy at the park. Hop on board this new attraction.
